Description

The EZABL Kit is a fully original design that makes adding an Auto Bed Leveling Sensor to your printer much easier than DIY solutions.

***This version requires hooking up the included power wire to your 12V or 24V printer power supply AND cutting the Z endstop wire to connect to our module. If you are not comfortable running wire or it’s difficult to get access to your printer power supply then look a the EZ-Connect version which has it’s own power adapter.***

    • Physical or Electrical Damage due to improper installation or use is not covered. Items are all pre-tested before leaving the shop.

Extensive firmware setup assistance – phone, messenger, or video chat – is available but there may be a charge for this due to the involvement required or what the issue is. This does not apply if you are using a pre-supported printer listed above. Meaning if you want to add EZABL and aren’t familiar with your board/printer firmware we can assist you with this.

AC Bed Notes:

If you have an AC bed the frequency of the AC current can throw off the accuracy of the sensor. This can be avoided by simply turning off the AC bed when Z homes and G29 runs. Once those are completed you can turn the bed back on. If you use a SSR to control the AC bed (like what the Tevo Tornado has from the factory) the firmware will automatically manage this for you. If you are doing your own DIY SSR+AC Bed setup we highly recommend the MSSSR20 SSR from Misumi as it has very low AC leakage current. Some low quality SSRs will leak a small amount of AC current and can affect the sensor even when in the off state. There is a guide on our knowledgebase about using a wifi outlet + raspberry pi to manage a standalone heater.

Tevo Tornado Notes:

Some Tevo Tornado printers shipped with very low quality power supplies that have an open or poor ground and/or Solid State Relays that leak AC current. This can cause the kit to not work. Unless you have a high end multimeter or scope to check the grounding and ripping on the machine there is no way to tell if yours is affected. A new PSU and SSR is between $30-50 and we sell both of these for just a hair over cost to make replacements easy. If you end up not wanting to swap the PSU and SSR and you have a Tornado we will waive the restocking fee if you choose to return it. This affects our sensors, other similar types, and even BL Touch sensors (clones included).

    Just installed this on my Wanhao Duplicator i3 Mini clone.

    Included STL mount worked a treat – just need a couple of M3x6mm bolts and matching nuts to attach it to the side of the print head.

    Updating the firmware was a little tricky as I had to burn the bootloader following the video for a different model of printer. I wired the jumper cables between my Arduino and the 3D printer board the wrong way around. Thankfully this didn’t brick my printer – it just threw up an error.

    I wired everything in and was able to neatly run the sensor cable with the Bowden tube, down through the tower and gathered all the excess in the base of the printer, out of the way.

    Works a treat, I’m still fine-tuning the Z-offset but I’m very happy.
