This is vary handy for isolating the two power supply. If you use a PI and ever noticed how your printer screen stays on even when to turn off the printer that’s because the pi power is bleeding through.

Well, almost. It is pretty freakin’ great, though. Comes with a nice clear shrink-wrap over it to protect the electronics, and is 100% plug and play. Works perfectly so I no longer have to keep physically disconnecting the USB cable from the printer to turn it all the way off. Great, inexpensive addition to my OctoPrint setup.

Question
jerome –
I this a useful addon for the EZBoard Lite, or is this functionality built-in to the board? Thanks.

Tim Hoogland –
This is built into the EZBoard lite. The Jumper on our board sets where the 5V rail is getting power from. By default it is set to the “VREG” side which is what the Power Bloughr does.

Question
spmfred –
Would this prevent power from my laptop turning the LCD on for my SV03? Whenever i hook it up via USB and the AC is on, the printer reboots.

Tim Hoogland –
Yes it would prevent the LCD from kicking on. As for the “reboot” that may be the board resetting when its serial port receives a connection (this is common with most boards).

Works great. It is a much better option than tape or dissecting the wire.

googs –
After connecting a pi running octoprint to an ender 3v quickly realised that there was some form of back feeding going on from the pi to the printer when the 3d printer is powered off keeping the screen etc on.
So awesome to see that the problem had been solved long before I encountered it and a product devoloped and available for sale. Awesome job Brian

Question
Manolet Cruz –
Can I use this to isolate the USB 5v power to a CR 6se printer?

Tim Hoogland (verified owner) –
Yes it will. This completely cuts the 5V+ line connection between the printer and PC/Pi
