What is this kit for and why should I get it?
This kit replaces the stock color LCD to give you more control and features over YOUR printer. The stock Ender 5 S1 LCDs and firmware have been very problematic for people and this kit fixes all of that.
The stock LCD and firmware from Creality is very buggy and do not work correctly with Octoprint and some slicers. This also allows for live Z adjustment (babystepping) and much more control over the core operations of your printer. PID tuning is available as well to fine-tune your hotend and bed temperature regulation. This goes great with our EZABL kit for automatic bed leveling.
Requires a firmware update that is included with the purchase of this kit. The Ender 5 S1 has a bootloader already and updates with the SD slot by placing a firmware file on the card and turning the printer on. See the firmware page for full details on how to use and update the firmware.
NOTE: This is NOT compatible with the Creality enclosure for the Ender 5 S1 unless you modify the door to cut out a space for the LCD kit.
Will this work with Klipper?
Yes, these LCDs and the stock board are supported by Klipper firmware. However, due to the complexity of Klipper, our technical support that is included does NOT apply if you are using Klipper firmware. Technical support only applies when you are using our Unified 2 Firmware package that is included.

While I did have a little “niggle” with the LCD knockout in the E5 S1 case being slightly out of spec (thanks Creality), all I had to do was install the 10 pin cable before attaching the the new LCD and it was all good. Software works great, though as a noob, I was a bit unsure about what if anything I needed to change before compiling my own firmware. Best upgrade I’ve ever done on a 3D printer!
