What is this kit for and why should I get it?
This kit replaces the stock touch LCD to give you more control and features over YOUR printer. There is also a USB passthrough cutout on the LCD case to let you pass a USB cable through into the bottom of the printer.
The stock LCD does not give you access to tuning settings like acceleration, jerk, steps per mm, and many others. This also allows for live Z adjustment (babystepping) and much more control over the core operations of your printer. PID tuning is available as well to fine-tune your hotend and bed temperature regulation. This goes great with our EZABL kit for automatic bed leveling.
Requires a firmware update that you can download for free from our page here: Unified 2 Firmware – Ender 6. The Ender 6 has a bootloader already and updates with the SD slot by placing a firmware file on the card and turning the printer on. See the firmware page for full details on how to use and update the firmware.
Will this work with Klipper? Yes, these LCDs and the stock board are supported by Klipper firmware. However, due to the complexity of Klipper, our technical support that is included does NOT apply if you are using Klipper firmware. Technical support only applies when you are using our Unified 2 Firmware package that is included.Installation Directions & Video

I love how these guys pay attention to the feedback they receive. The new case fits the screen perfectly!! I have much better control over my ender 6 with this upgrade. Make no mistake this is a definite worth while upgrade. If you do not want the best prints you can get then stick with the creality crap screen.

Love how much easier this is than the touchscreen. Plus all the new settings available. I connect my printer to my Unraid server running an Octoprint docker. So I added a micro usb adapter I ordered from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PG6VU6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_B2QW68NSGTNDW2W883GR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Had to shave the USB hole too and bottom 1 mm or 2 to get a nice snug fit. Could also add your usb power cutter but I had already snipped the pin on my USB cable.

Question
Scott Jubenville –
Will this work if you are using Klipper firmware and have enabled the appropriate
12864 section in your config file or is running the Unified Firmware a requirement?

Tim Hoogland –
Klipper does have support for the 12864 type LCDs so this would work. However, I do want to note that we (as a company) do not provide technical support for Klipper. But we do have people in our communities that use Klipper with our LCD kit. You can check out our communities here: TH3D Communities

Question
Aidan Smith –
I have recently installed a biqu h2 to my ender 6 and need to change the x and y offset, does your controller and firmware enable me to do that? Also i have a BL touch already installed, is your firmware compatible with a standard BL touch, i will definitely be investing in your touch solution in future though. Thanks so much in advance.

Tim Hoogland –
Our Ender 6 firmware does have BL Touch settings in it, we don’t provide technical support for that probe but the firmware does facilitate the use and setup of them.
You will also have full control over the firmware settings with our kit and our firmware as we provide all the source code for you to modify.

Question
DanPro –
Does this upgrade the ender 6 to a full version Marlin gcode. The stock firmware doesn’t support filament change or pause gcode commands.

Yes, this kit uses Marlin 2.0 for the firmware that we put out. It’s all pre-setup so you don’t need to even know about firmware setup to use it. 🙂 If you need help we also include technical support as well should you get stuck or just have a question.

Question
The Bagpiper –
How would Octoprint work with this kit? Is it supported? And do you have an ETA for the out of stock LCD item? Thank you!

Hi there. The kit and the accompanying firmware work great with OctoPrint. As for the LCD kit restocking, times are all over the place with the shortages. But ideally, we should have more in early March 2022. You can add the kit to your wish list on the site to be emailed when we re-stock the kits.
